Biaggi: “DCCC Chair Sean Patrick Maloney is Erasing Our Voices”

Congressional candidate Allexandra Biaggi, center, at opening of her campaign HQ’s in Sleep Hollow

In response to Sean Patrick Maloney’s false claim that he is the only candidate in the NY-17 Democratic Congressional primary with support from current and former elected officials, local electeds and leaders issued the following statement:

“As current and former local elected officials, we are dismayed that DCCC chair Sean Patrick Maloney is ignoring our support for the true progressive candidate in NY-17, Alessandra Biaggi. We are deeply concerned that the chair of the DCCC is focused on erasing the voices of local constituents, when he should be focused on maintaining the house majority.

“Along with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Working Families Party, Empire State Indivisible, Democracy for America, the New York Progressive Action Network, Rockland United, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, and numerous more grassroots organizations and leaders, we proudly endorsed Senator Biaggi for Congress in NY-17. As leaders from Rockland, Putnam, and Westchester, we’ve thrown our weight behind Senator Biaggi because of her tireless advocacy for working people, her refusal to take corporate donations, and her legislative leadership — helping to codify Roe, protect tenants rights, tackle climate change, pass gun safety legislation and strengthen public schools.

“Sean Patrick Maloney should stop listening to his corporate donors and start listening to local grassroots voices.”
