MASTERS HOCKEY

In season 2023 Yarra fielded a team in Over 50B and Over 60B grades with both teams reaching the finals and finishing 3rd.

Prior to the Covid years the club had 5 Masters teams and we have aspirations to get back to that level, in particular expanding the Masters teams to include a Mens Over 45 team and a Women’s Masters team in 2024.

The more teams we have the better we are able to cater for all levels of ability from former top level players to potentially parents of juniors who have not played before but would like to give it a go.

The competition is played on a home and away basis with a little bit of travel involved for away games.

We do a little bit of preseason training but once the season starts the only commitment is games.

In 2023 the club had 7 Men and 5 Ladies play for various teams and age groups at the Australian Masters Tournament in Perth. Noel Campbell and Max Blakiston played for the Over80 Victorian team that won the gold medal and Geoff Ennis won a silver medal in the Over45 age group.

We are always looking for new players, if you’re interested please get in touch via the form on this page.
