North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper vetoes bill that would end federal unemployment supplement
from W. X II 12 news. This is breaking news that breaking news is out of Davie County. The Sheriff's office is looking for two suspects who shot and killed a man then stole a car. This happened overnight on Boone Lane that's southeast of Marksville, right off of Highway 801 Deputies found 50 year old Oscar young dead on the front porch of a home. They say he had been shot several times, investigators tell us. It appears that the suspects drove up and shot the victim after that. One of them stole a blue Chrysler 300 sedan, similar to the one you see on the right side of your screen. Deputies say the stolen car has a north Carolina license plate J. A. D. 89 46. We're told the other suspect drove away in a red or burgundy honda accord and heavy downpours left their mark on the Piedmont. Tried it like to some flash flooding in several places, dough joe's and Winston Salem is closed today because of water damage. Police in Greensboro also reported flooding on several roads there, but despite the rain this morning, you will still be able to get out and enjoy the holiday weekend as we take a live look now over balloons. A lake where lots of people will certainly be heading this weekend. A lot of folks, meteorologist Dave Bacon joins us and what can we expect for this afternoon and then heading into the holiday on sunday. Well things Kimberly and Audrey going to gradually start to improve as we go on in through this afternoon, especially as we get into the overnight and then on into the holiday weekend, things should start to quiet down. The humidity is actually come down I think as we go into the day tomorrow. So a pretty good looking holiday weekend coming up. You're right, there's still a few showers around there, really relegated over southern parts of Randolph county, northern parts of uh Montgomery More county to picking up a little rain, some of that little heavy in a few cells, but that's about it. Everything off to the Northwest has dried out, trying to get a little partial clearing up over the mountains right now, but all the big rains really remain down to our east, over the coastal plain and then down into eastern parts of south Carolina and some thunderstorms along the north and south Carolina coast. Right now, temperatures are into the seventies, we're gonna try and get up to about 80 this afternoon as the clouds disperse a little bit more as we get on into a little bit later in the afternoon, a cold front slowly moving through the area right now, but just about everybody around 70 or into the low seventies, with the exception of the mountains where temperatures are still in the mid sixties there right now, 66 up at west, jefferson winds are light to call them. They are starting to make that turn out of the west. The Northwest is that cold front slowly pushes across the area as we're going in through the remainder of this afternoon, So we'll keep in the risk of an isolated shower and seeing our temperatures getting on up into the upper seventies, it might be a little warmer off to our west as the sun breaks out A little earlier there, but we may get too close to 80 and portions of the Piedmont triad later this afternoon and it should be dry too, so clearing overnight and then a dry holiday weekend and less humid for the entire holiday weekend to also else is a hurricane.
