Elsa is now a post-tropical cyclone, which means the storm no longer has tropical characteristics. The center of the storm did pass over Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts earlier this afternoon. In fact, it moved over Watch Hill at Westerly at 12:15PM, according to the National Hurricane Center.
A much quieter start is expected for Saturday morning. Clouds and sunshine will be mixed as temperatures rise through the 70s by noon-time.
During the afternoon, we’ll see low 80s for inland sections and upper 70s for coastal areas. A pop up shower or storm is possible during the afternoon and evening.
By mid to late morning, temperatures will be well into the 70s but most areas remain rain-free, with the exception for Cape Cod and Nantucket where a shower or two remains possible.
Spotty showers start to form during the afternoon as indicated by the green spots on the map. They’ll be very hit or miss and not everyone will see a shower or even rumble of thunder. Just keep an eye to the sky while enjoying any outdoor plans.
A nice sunset seems to be in the forecast as skies really clear out by around 7PM. Temperatures will be comfortably in the 70s.
