Terms and conditions for employment at Erasmus MC

If you wish to work at Erasmus MC and have been offered a position by us, you need to comply with a number of employment conditions. If you work at Erasmus MC based on another type of contract, a volunteer contract, for instance, then check the applicable terms and conditions in the relevant job vacancy and in the contract itself.

General terms and conditions

All new staff members employed by Erasmus MC are required to provide the following documents:

  • a valid ID (passport or identity card)
  • all diplomas and certificates that are relevant for your position *)
  • a valid Certificate of Conduct (VOG)

You must submit the original copy of the VOG certificate within two months of starting employment. The fee for the certificate will be reimbursed. You will receive information on how to apply for the VOG certificate as soon as you have been selected for the position.

Work permit

All international employees from non-EU/EEA countries will require a work permit. If you have been selected for a position and do not yet have a work permit, Erasmus MC will apply for one for you.

Job-related conditions

If you will be working in a position as a healthcare practitioner, a number of additional employment conditions will apply.

BIG registration

A valid BIG registration is required for the following positions: 

  • pharmacist
  • physician
  • physiotherapist
  • clinical psychologist
  • physician assistant
  • psychotherapist
  • dentist
  • nurse
  • obstetrician

RGS registration

Medical specialists must have proof of RGS registration.
