How We Work:
The Goal
The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education. Upward Bound has always focused on student success and outcomes and we continue to find new, innovative, and impactful ways to motivate our students.
About the Program
Tulane Upward Bound is a federally funded TRiO program that provides services designed to develop the soft skills, study habits, and discipline necessary for success in high school and college. Participants commit to the program until high school graduation and participate in both a six-week summer program and an academic year component including weekly 1-on-1 tutoring and Saturday workshops. The program provides exposure to a wide variety of academic, cultural, social, and career opportunities simulating a college experience. We have found great success in focusing on the following areas during our programming:
College Academic Programs and Cultural Events
Instruction and Exploration in College Prepatory Curriculums
Assistance Completing College Applications
