Throughout the year, they work to better the community. But on Thursday night, they came together for the kids.

The Coalition of Inner City Neighborhoods held its annual dinner on Thursday night. More than 200 neighbors gathered for good food, fellowship, a political speaker, and to raise money.

The proceeds from the event will go to the Dare to Dream program which takes teenagers to visit college campuses, to Riley Children’s Hospital, and for the first time the Evansville Police Department’s Cops Connecting with Kids Disney trip.

“It encourages kids to be positive,” said Fred Cooke, “bring grades up, citizenship, attendance, and something to look forward to because these kids might not ever see Disney World, or any amusement park.”

Coin has been holding this dinner for 17 years.
