The City of Toronto, under the guidance of the Medical Officer of Health, is gradually reopening City facilities and restarting operations where it is safe to do so. As part of the City’s phased resumption of services, Drop-off Depots (Transfer Stations) are now partially reopening to the public.
Starting on Tuesday, May 19, at 6 p.m., Bermondsey and Ingram Drop-off Depots will open to the public on weeknights for drop-off of recycling, garbage, and yard waste. Hours of operation are as follows:
• Bermondsey: Monday to Thursday from 6 p.m. to midnight and 12:30 a.m. to 6 a.m., Fridays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
• Ingram: Monday to Friday from 6 p.m. to midnight and 12:30 am to 6 a.m.
In addition, Bermondsey, Ingram, as well as Scarborough Drop-off Depots will be open to the public on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for drop-off of recycling, garbage, and yard waste, as well as household hazardous waste.
Compost pickup will not be available at any Drop-off Depot and all other Drop-off Depots remain closed to the public.
The public are asked to limit their visits to Drop-off Depots and respect public health guidelines. Cash will not be accepted; payment must be made by debit or credit card. A face mask or covering can be used when one is unable to maintain a two metre (six foot) distance from others. At Drop-off Depots, this includes interacting with staff at weigh scales or dropping off household hazardous waste.
Registered account holders can continue to bring material to Drop-off Depots at any time during operating hours, but can only bring household hazardous waste on Saturdays to Ingram, Bermondsey and Scarborough Drop-off Depots from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
