Winter Weather Alert: Seguin & New Braunfels Campuses Delay Opening Until 10 am on Thursday, Feb. 2

Weather Update as of 5 PM on Wednesday, Feb. 1:

Seguin & New Braunfels Campuses Delay Opening Until 10 am on Feb. 2

While temperatures in Seguin and New Braunfels are now forecast to be above freezing this evening and tomorrow, both TLU's Seguin and New Braunfels campuses will delay opening until 10 am on Thursday, Feb. 2, as a precautionary move. Students, faculty, and staff who live in more weather-impacted areas should err on the side of caution and contact their respective faculty or supervisors to make special arrangements as appropriate.

Academics (Students and Faculty):
The delayed opening does not mean that classes before 10 am are cancelled. Faculty may offer virtual or remote instruction or provide alternative options for learning. Faculty will reach out to students as to their plans and it is the student’s responsibility to make sure they do not miss a remote class if at all possible. Any class engagement (before 10 am) must remain remote and not require students to travel to campus.

Food Service:
Hein Dining Hall and Lucky’s will be open from 9:30 am to 10 pm. Tschoepe Café will be open from 9:30 am to 3 pm.

We will continue to monitor the weather conditions overnight and should a further delay or closure be warranted, we will communicate it through E2Campus, @txlutheran social media accounts, and this web page by 6 am on Thursday, Feb. 2.
