NMS Summer Newsletter - July 15
Northwestern Middle School News and Notes
Happy Friday Wildcat Country!
We are three weeks away from the first day of school! This is both a scary (teachers!) and exciting (parents) time of year. During the next couple weeks, we will be sharing more information to help prepare our families and students for the new school year.
Today was the first School Governance Council meeting of the school year. This team is made up of staff and parents who excited to work on your behalf to continue the great legacy of our school. Please know that our SGC meetings are open to the public so you're welcome to attend!
This week's edition is full of new and important information. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to your grade level Assistant Principals.
Lockers & Backpacks. We have received questions about this process, so I want to help alleviate concerns. Students will keep their backpacks in their locker this school year. There are both operational and safety reasons for this decision. Students will be able to carry smaller bags - like a draw string bag (pictured below). Students will also have multiple locker breaks throughout the school day in addition to transition time. Students will not have to carry all of their school supplies all day. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact us.
Students and parents will be able to view schedules in Portal on Tuesday, August 3.
Tracy Brunetto Memorial Service
The family of Mrs. Tracy Brunetto will receive friends on Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Northside Chapel. There will be a prayer service beginning at 3:30pm.
“A journey cut too short, but a legacy that lives on in her daughters, her family, and her students. A beloved daughter, friend, sister, wife, mother, aunt, teacher and colleague. We lost her, but she is victorious in her fight.”
