Principal's Message
Dolvin Families –
We are coming up on the end of our fourth week of school, and are on the verge of our first long weekend. Schools will be closed on Monday, September 5, for Labor Day. Tuesday, September 6, is a remote learning day for students. Teachers will be communicating the learning assignments to families no later than Friday afternoon. Please note that Fulton County Schools staff will be working remotely on Tuesday, so the school will be closed. We will welcome back our Dolphins on the morning of Wednesday, September 7.
Staff that monitor walker dismissal ask families to remember that they pick up their children at the Buice Road entrance and walk together off campus. Parents that arrive to Dolvin in a vehicle must go through the car pool line to pick up their student.
I hope you enjoy some family time this weekend. If you are headed out of town – safe travels!
Your proud principal,
Karen
ATTENDANCE MATTERS
If your child will miss school for any reason, please send an email to their homeroom teacher as well as dolvinattendance@fultonschools.org. Ideally these emails are mailed the morning of the absence but can be sent no later than 5 days after the absence. Please include first and last name of student.
Please visit https://www.fultonschools.org/attendancematters for full details regarding attendance. Please note that the system generates automatic emails to parents of students that miss a certain number of days. The county is looking at EXCUSED and UNEXCUSED absences as a whole. Your child's attendance can be viewed in the parent portal.
If your child tests positive for COVID, you must report it to the COVID portal located on the Dolvin.org website. A nurse will contact you with a return date.
Families/Students must formally request for students to be absent due to family events or other pre-approved absences at least 5 days prior to the absence. Send requests to Andy Stein at steina@fultonschools.org.
DOCUMENTS TO COMPLETE ENROLLMENT
If your child was provisionally enrolled due to lack of required documents, please submit required documents no later than September 9, 2022, to complete enrollment and avoid withdrawal.

FOUNDATION NEWS - Incentive Updates & Important Deadline - September 5th
Wow, what a busy start to the year! With all the new routines and to-do's, we know there's a lot to keep track of during the first month of school. The Foundation would like to give a big Thank You to everyone who has donated so far - your support means so much!! Check back with us on Facebook and Twitter for bulletin board updates each week.
The Foundation's 2022-2023 Direct Giving campaign is underway, and we need more help to reach our goal of $20,000. As promised, ALL students will receive a FREE Spirit Shirt for field trips and school events when we reach that goal!
To help us get there, the Foundation is also accepting shirt sponsors, which includes:
- Businesses donating directly as shirt sponsors (more details)
- Businesses that have completed or confirmed a Corporate Match donation
- Families/individuals donating at the $500 level or above
BUT – we can only accept shirt sponsors through Monday, September 5th! Simply submit your contribution online via Paypal and email us your logo file today to secure your spot.
And – we combine incentives! Any families or individual donors who also provide a business sponsorship or Corporate Match will receive all the incentives for their combined total! For example, a business sponsorship of $400 plus a family donation of $100 would earn combined incentives at the $500 level (plus sponsor perks!). A family donation of $250 with a 1:1 Corporate Match would also earn incentives at the $500 level (plus printing the business name and/or family name on shirts).
All donations, whether business or personal, are 100% tax-deductible. There is no donation too small or too large – and no matter the amount, we appreciate your support and truly believe that every dollar counts!
Want to get involved with the Foundation? We are always looking for volunteers to help with events, fundraising efforts, or to become part of our Board. Contact us at dolvinesfoundation@gmail.com to get started, or visit dolvinfoundation.org to learn more. You can also like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to get the latest Foundation news.
