Learn more about our units to identify the place where your talent best fits: DMV Call Centers deliver email & phone support to customers across the state on vehicle registrations, liability insurance, driver licensing, medical, safety/emissions inspections, and vehicle property taxes. Driver License Offices (DLOs) serve customers in offices across the state to gain and renew driver licenses, permits, & State IDs. State Titling and Registration System (STARS) Help Desk delivers email & phone support related to vehicle registration and titling Strategy, Research & Planning supports all NC crash-reporting systems and runs the Operations Support Help Desk for DMV law enforcement and other law enforcement agencies. Training & Development delivers ongoing statewide training programs to all DMV units, including law enforcement, to drive learning, growth, and compliance. Quality Control identifies and solves problems related to DMV processes and information to drive DMV-wide excellence. Special Operations manages the state’s unique license plates and assists with customer service. Accountability ensures License Plate Agencies, online dealers, driver license offices, and License & Theft offices comply with laws concerning cash, credit cars, and inventory. Renewal, Title, & Plate (RTP) coordinates all information and processes related to license plates, vehicle titles, and renewals. School Bus and Traffic Safety (SBTS) leads statewide school bus safety programs for drivers, students, and the public. They screen, train, and license commercial driver education instructors and schools. Liability Insurance performs research and reporting on vehicle & registration histories and vehicle activity reports. Business Services – Data Capture manages all data related to NC customer driving records. Prep & Scan delivers high volume digitization and storage of paper documents relating to DMV processing. Customer Compliance Services Medical Review conducts medical review hearings to ensure motorists may safely operate on the State’s roadway system. License & Theft enforces NC DMV laws and investigates all DMV-related crimes. License & Theft ISAAC/Intelligence enforces regulations and conducts DMV-related criminal investigations. License & Theft Logistics manages the purchase, installation, and maintenance of DMV law enforcement vehicles.
