The Sixth Sunday Of Easter
The Sixth Sunday Of Easter
O God, who hast prepared for those who love thee such good things as pass man's understanding: Pour into our hearts such love towards thee, that we, loving thee in all things and above all things, may obtain thy promises, which exceed all that we can desire; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

York and New York City will celebrate their historic relationship during a special evensong at Saint Thomas Church in New York on May 5, 2024 at 4pm when a ledger stone designed and carved at York Minster will be formally unveiled in the nave of the landmark church on Fifth Avenue.
“In its bicentennial year, Saint Thomas Church is delighted to celebrate the historic relationship between old York and New York, as it were, and to uplift our Anglican heritage from which we draw so much tradition and strength. We feel privileged to house this historic ledger stone in our nave and look forward to welcoming delegations from York and the British Embassy” says the Revd. Canon Carl Turner, Rector of Saint Thomas.
His Majesty’s Consul General to New York Hannah Young will unveil the stone and will read a message from His Majesty King Charles III as part of the service. This comes 100 years after a similar bronze plaque was sent from New York to York, marking the relationship between the two cities.
