REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN

OVERVIEW

What happens when you combine the skills and strategies of curling and table-top role playing games? Come find out at the Rocket City Curling Club's second annual DragonSpiel!

In this two-day funspiel, you’ll decide whether to curl as a Wizard, Cleric, Fighter or Rogue, and you’ll receive a limited number of spells or abilities to use during your matches. But choose wisely! You’ll only get to teleport that stone once!

Other details:

  • Open bonspiel

  • $300 team registration fee / $75 individual registration fee

  • Limited to 20 TEAMS

  • Three-game guarantee

  • Dinners provided

  • One-shot TTRPG’s to play between draws

  • And it really is about the curling... no RPG experience needed!

All games will be played at the Huntsville Ice Sports Center, located at 3185 Leeman Ferry Rd, Huntsville, AL  35801.

HOW IT WORKS

Each team will receive four decks of cards, one each for Wizards, Clerics, Rogues and Fighters. Each deck will have four cards with a different spell or ability.

Spell Cards Teaser 2.png

You'll assign one deck to each of your teammates, and they'll use those spells while curling. But you can only use each spell or ability once during the bonspiel, so use them wisely. We'll send you the spell / ability list before the event so you can strategize.  All teams will receive the same card decks.

Cosplay? If you're feeling it... absolutely! But try to avoid feathers and other materials that could fall on the ice.

Between draws, we'll feed you, you can buy drinks, and we'll have some games available. After the final draw, we have several DM's who will run some quick one-shot D&D games. Or play some crokinole. Or just chill.
