I Wasn't on Drugs, I Had Eclampsia

On May 16th 2007, when I thought I was 11 weeks pregnant, I was visiting my grandmother at her home. I had just come from school and had a really bad headache, to the point I could not handle it. My mother had already been at my grandma's before I arrived; she had seen I wasnt feeling very well and not acting myself. So I told her that my head was hurting really bad and I could not take the pain. I then felt really nauseous and ran to the restroom to vomit. After that is when I passed out.

My mom immediately rushed me to the ER where they tried everything to figure out what was going on. I started seizing and the ER staff asked if I was on drugs and possibly overdosing, despite my mom telling them I was pregnant. My mom immediately went into a rage letting them know I don't do drugs, but they still adminstered Narcan to make sure it wasn't an opiate overdose. When they saw I didn't stop seizing, they knew they had a big issue.

When I awoke a few days later I was informed I suffered from preeclampsia then got hit with eclampsia. I was told on April 9th that i was only 6 weeks pregnant at the time. My daughter was born at 32 weeks weighing 4lbs 9oz. I had been pregnant for 21 more weeks than I was told. It was my first pregnancy so I had no experience, which is why I went almost full term not knowing I was pregnant. There is a lot more to the story from what I was told, I don't know much due to being unconscious most of my hospital stay.
