Marilyn A. Johnson, 86, of Peoria, passed away Thursday Oct. 19 at Lutheran Hillside Village, Peoria, where she resided for six years.
Marilyn was born to Fred C. Marble and Ella M. (Schmidt) Marble on Sept. 12, 1937 in Peoria. She married Charles (Chuck) W. Johnson in 1960 in Peoria. Chuck died Jan. 25, 2023 in Peoria. They enjoyed 62 years of loving marriage. Marilyn graduated from Peoria Manual High School. She attended Millikin University.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and by her sister Joanne A. (Marble) Shotick. Marilyn and Chuck were also preceded in death by the love of their lives, son Steve, who was born in 1969 and died in 1994.
Marilyn is survived by two nephews, George (Anne) Shotick and David (Joyce) Shotick, and George and David's children and grandchildren.
Marilyn and Chuck's biggest hobby was traveling, visiting all parts of America, and documenting each trip with photo albums and journals.
Marilyn and Chuck were members of First Federated Church, Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Words of comfort can be shared with the family at www.davison-fulton.com. Both have been entombed at American Mausoleum, Peoria.
A memorial service for Marilyn and Chuck led by Rev. Steve Barch will be held at First Federated Church, Peoria, on Dec. 2, 2023 at noon, with visitation at 11 a.m.
The family wants to thank the staff at Lutheran Hillside Village for all the loving care that Marilyn and Chuck received for the last six years.
