Roberto Carmona

Roberto is an inspiring speaker and will present a thought leader’s point of view on Hispanic Owned Businesses in America.

Bio: Roberto Carmona, President/CEO for Carmona Strategic Solutions, is a results-oriented thought leader, with success as a strategic planning consultant, an executive recruiter, business development and leadership development consultant and he has helped organizations with their DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives.

Roberto established, his firm Carmona Strategic Solutions (CSS), as the go to organization for businesses and organizations seeking to be more competitive through strategy design, scaling, team building, cultural transformation, and competitive opportunity identification.

CSS is the strategic outreach and technical assistance consultants for the State of Illinois’s Capital Development Board (CDB), and for the Illinois Tollway, in partnership with the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. CSS provides services such as strategic planning, business development, executive recruitment and organizational transformational, for multiple organizations and businesses in Illinois and other parts of the nation.

Roberto’s corporate experience includes serving as a strategy consultant for Sodexo’s successful bid to provide facilities management services at the Chicago Public School and he later joined Sodexo as Director of Business Development in their higher education and healthcare markets.

Roberto was selected by the Illinois Humanities Council to the 2019 Road Scholars Speakers Bureau and was trained on presentation at Chicago's Second City Training Center.

His federal government experience includes serving as federal grant reviewer on the $1.7 Billion Empowerment Zone review process, overseeing national programs in the areas, civil rights, workforce, and economic development for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington DC.

In 2002 Roberto received a fellowship from the National Council of La Raza (now Unidos US) and completed a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. He has a master’s degree in political science from Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU), a bachelor’s degree in political science from Northern Illinois University and is a proud alumnus of Sauk Valley Community College.
