At Penn College, you’ll explore this expansive field through foundational coursework, extensive hands-on experience in specialized labs, and in-depth clinical placements at one of over 65 diverse sites across the region.

Applied Health Studies, Completion (B.S.)

Students who have earned an associate’s degree from Penn College in physical therapist assistant are eligible to pursue a bachelor’s degree in applied health studies. 

Minors & Immersions

Pair a minor with any bachelor's degree, or an immersion with any bachelor's or associate's degree.

PTA students engage older adults in activity, wellness

Penn College physical therapist assistant students visited The Williamsport Home, where they provided two 30-minute activity sessions for residents in the home’s independent living apartments. Each year, students select a community organization or event they would like to work with as part of a yearlong service-learning project. This year, the Class of 2024 voted to provide exercise and wellness sessions to older adults in area long-term care facilities.

Physical therapist assistant students urge public to 'Choose PT'

To celebrate National Physical Therapy Month, students in Penn College’s physical therapist assistant program are spreading the word about why individuals should choose physical therapy to decrease pain, increase mobility, maximize health and improve their quality of life. Every October, the American Physical Therapy Association celebrates National Physical Therapy Month to raise awareness with consumers about the many benefits of physical therapy.
