Ordway dancers are confident, creative, caring and passionate. Ordway dancers have strong ballet technique, are skilled performers and think positively. They develop a lifelong passion and respect for their art form, and gain a lifelong family in their fellow dancers and instructors.

Our instructors have a fervor for teaching and a deep love of their art form. They teach respect and discipline along with solid technique, and promote a growth mindset in their students.

Our facility is state-of-the-art with the industry’s best flooring to protect our dancers’ bodies.

Our performances are astonishing. Our audiences are always amazed at the level of professionalism in our students, staff and performance qualities. And best of all, our productions are made of 100% students. They are the stars!

OUR STORY

Ms Sara founded Ordway Conservatory of Classical Ballet in early 2018. She was just about to retire from a celebrated career as a principal dancer and was ready to take her life in a new direction. With the support of her husband (our world-class lighting designer and tech director) she set to work on building the studio of her dreams. A place where all students could feel beautiful, safe, and respected while reaching for their dreams. With help from an exceptional community of our very first dance families, Ordway Conservatory was born. Today OCCB has established itself as the “go to studio” in Northern Virginia. We have a strong community with a positive culture. Our annual productions never fail to delight and always bring in big crowds (even in 2020 when some performances were virtual)! We are especially proud of our annual “An Interactive Nutcracker” that brings children from the audience right up on stage to experience the magic of live performance up close! Ms Sara’s goal for Ordway Conservatory is to continue to grow the studio in every imaginable way and to always provide a safe space for everyone and anyone who wants to learn to dance. Dance can unite us all!
