A two-day eventConnecting Regions: Partnerships for Resilient and Sustainable Supply Chains

Under the theme “Connecting Regions: Partnerships for Resilient and Sustainable Supply Chains”, this Ministerial Forum will explore how OECD and ASEAN countries can improve supply chain resilience to better protect against future shocks and help build the foundations for a greener and digital future. 

The Forum will provide an opportunity for Ministers and high-level participants from OECD and ASEAN countries to discuss the practical measures ASEAN and OECD businesses and governments can take to improve supply chain resilience in the near term. It will also focus on how OECD and ASEAN governments and business can collaborate to promote investment opportunities and improve economic resilience over the long run. The Forum will include the active participation of business and will introduce the OECD – Southeast Asia Business Network. 

The OECD - Viet Nam High-level Economic Forum on day two will build on the supply chain theme of the first day by focusing on attracting quality foreign direct investment for the digital and green transitions. It will be followed by business roundtables on manufacturing and renewable energy as well as a business networking event.

October 17: The Ministerial Forum will focus on resilience and sustainability of supply chains with two sessions. The first session will provide an opportunity for Ministers and high-level participants from OECD and ASEAN member countries to discuss the current challenges to ASEAN as well as OECD businesses and governments. The second session will focus on how to improve the resilience of supply chains for a greener and digital future. The opening & closing speeches will be livestreamed to the public, while ministerial discussions are by invitation only. 

October 18: The OECD - Viet Nam High-level Economic Forum will build on the supply chain theme of the first day with a high-level panel discussion that focuses on attracting quality Foreign Direct Investment for the digital and green transitions. The opening & closing speeches will be livestreamed to the public, while ministerial discussions are by invitation only.

For Businesses...

October 17: The Forum presents a unique opportunity for businesses to engage with policymakers and industry experts from Southeast Asian countries. Businesses are invited to listen to the Ministerial Discussions online. 

October 18: Activities on the second day are open to businesses more broadly. Specifically, there will be two Business Roundtables on the Manufacturing and Renewables sectors where emerging trends and insights as well as solutions to the most prevalent issues of those industries will be discussed. A Networking session will also take place, where you will have the opportunity to meet other businesses in your field and have one-on-one discussions with businesses of your choice (dependent on request and availability).

Vehicles and Transportation
Transportation from Noi Bai International Airport: 
- Transportation for delegations attending from abroad will be provided.
- Taxis are well regulated as you step out of the airport, with a rate from the airport to city centre of VND 345,000 (around USD16), and the reverse route is VND 220,000 (around USD10). Passengers are also able to request drop-off directly to the hotel, with journey time around 40 minutes from the airport.
Visa Information
Generally, non-nationals are required to have a visa to enter Vietnam. In case of coming from a country with visa waiver status, passengers are allowed to have a stay duration of 15 days from the entry date (including the entry date and the next 14 days of stay).  For more details, please contact the nearest Viet Nam Embassy or Consulate General, or visit Viet Nam Visa Information Website.
Covid-19 preventive requirements
International delegates are not required to have proof of vaccination or negative SARS-CoV-2 test results. Travellers are required to wear masks and follow handwashing and other Covid-19 requirements. If you show symptoms of Covid-19 (fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, body aches, loss of taste, loss of smell, headache, diarrhoea, breathing difficulty, etc.) you must notify the relevant health agencies.

Forum Co-chairs

The OECD Southeast Asia Regional Programme (SEARP) has commenced its third phase (2022-2025) under the Co-chairmanship of Australia and Viet Nam. The Programme is a visible platform that brings together policy makers and experts from OECD and Southeast Asian countries to foster mutual learning and the exchange of standards, policies and good practices.
