House Dems vote against backing the blue, continue efforts to defund police

March 4, 2021

House Democrats just passed the same “police reform” bill they shoved through the House in 2020. The legislation eliminates qualified immunity for police officers and hamstrings local law enforcement by imposing one-size-fits-all Washington mandates making it more difficult for officers to do their job quickly and effectively.

The National Association of Police Organizations reiterated its opposition to the bill saying“we have continued to be unfairly locked out of the discussion around this overhaul of the law enforcement profession. The result is a bill with which we have significant concerns – concerns that have not been addressed since the Act initially passed the House on June 25, 2020.”

This bill isn’t real reform, it’s liberal activists making it more difficult for police officers to protect their communities.

NRCC Comment: “House Democrats obviously didn’t learn their lesson in 2020. By voting to make it harder for local law enforcement to protect their communities, House Democrats just ignored every single American who told them they didn’t want to defund the police.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair
