Parents, submit your child's yearbook portrait!

Deadline: February 8

The FIS yearbook needs your help so that we can include every student in the class section of the book. If your child missed having their portrait taken this year, it's not too late to be included. Please carefully review the following instructions for Taking Your Student's Portrait before you begin.

You can use a camera phone to take photos, but be sure to send us the original/largest file size for the photo. While the upload software should work with most phones, a larger screen will make the process easier. We recommend using a computer, laptop, or tablet for the upload process.

When you are ready to upload your photos, follow the link below and use the portrait folder. Once the photos are uploaded, they are in our system. However, after uploading a photo, you should see a preview that will allow you to add identifying information to the photo. Portraits must include this info or they will not be used in the class section even if they are in the portrait folder.

Taking Your Student's Portrait

1.      Place the student in front of a plain background such a wall. The school photos were taken against a grey background, but any solid background will work.

2.      Turn on all of available lights and add extra lighting if needed so that the photo is bright and clear. Take the photo outside if you do not have enough lighting indoors.

3.      The student should stand with their arms down to their sides.

4.      Frame the photo vertically (up/down) so that there is some space above the head, and the bottom of the photo ends above the child's stomach. Frame the photo in the camera. Do not zoom or crop after taking the photo.

5.      Instruct your child to smile, and take as many photos as needed to get one that you like.

6.      Upload your favorite photo to the portrait folder and fill in the necessary information.
