About the Author

Hi! My name is Ryann Mojica and I am the author behind Learning to Navigate Through My Social-Emotional World.

I have a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Communication Disorders & Sciences from California State University, Fullerton and I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis.

I have always been passionate about helping others, especially kids and changing the world around me.

I've worked with kids throughout my life since I was 16. I was a receptionist at a kids' hair salon, a babysitter, tutor, and nanny for several families, a teacher for pre-schoolers and kindergarteners, and an applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapist for kids with Autism.

My Mission

I wrote Learning to Navigate Through My Social-Emotional World because social and emotional intelligence is such a crucial aspect of navigating through life.

My mission is to just change one life. If this book can change one life and help one kiddo learn how to navigate through their world- I did my job.

As an adult, I understand why it's so important to have the ability to understand my own feelings, understand the feelings of others, and understand how important it is to be self-aware of my actions and how they affect other people.

I wrote this book specifically for kids because it is easier to learn and process information as a kid than an adult- as children's prefrontal cortexes are more elastic and in their developing stages, making it more flexible for learning at a faster rate.

I hope that this book changes the lives of our future generation and teaches them how to create a world where it is only filled with kindness, love, compassion, and empathy.
