Home Study Program

The Moreland Home Study Program serves students who are in kindergarten through 8th grade and reside within the Moreland attendance area, as well as neighboring school districts. In this program, parents are responsible for the day-to-day teaching of lessons with support and guidance from Moreland Home Study Program teachers. A standards-based curriculum is made available to enrolled families, along with other supplementary materials such as math manipulatives and science supplies.

Home Study Program families are required to attend regularly scheduled conference appointments, where students submit self-selected work samples in each of the major curricular areas: language arts, math, social studies, and science.  Conferences are also used to encourage students and advise parents in their homeschooling endeavors.

This program also offers on-site enrichment classes in the areas of science/STEM, art, and writing, as well as field trip opportunities and other social events.

All students need to be enrolled in the Moreland School District prior to enrollment in ISP.  After district enrollment, the Home Study Program application form needs to be completed.  Parents will be contacted by the Home Study Program teachers to set up a conference to discuss program expectations and sign a written agreement.
