Short Programs

MCI The Entrepreneurial School offers students and partner universities short as well as tailored programs giving you a taste of the city and the learning experience at our institution. You can join our 3-4 week winter or summer programs and develop in-depth knowledge. Expand your mind with short stays and induce big changes in your lives.

Our ideal location also makes it easier for you to visit nearby cities and countries - all it takes is a few-hours’ train ride to:

  • Salzburg, where Mozart used to live and “The Sound of Music” was filmed
  • Vienna, Austria’s gorgeous capital city with its rich imperial past
  • Venice, one of the world’s most romantic cities
  • Munich, city of the "Oktoberfest"

MCI Winter Program

In our three-week winter program held in the month of February, we offer undergraduate courses with a focus on engineering and business. Pack your bags and enjoy experiential learning with lab work or case studies as well as exciting sports and leisure opportunities such as skiing, ice skating and sledging.

MCI Summer Program

In our 3-4 week summer program held in June, we offer undergraduate courses with a focus on entrepreneurship and business. Pack your bags and enjoy experiential learning with quizzes and case studies as well as exciting sports and leisure opportunities such as hiking, swimming, zip-lining or simply going for a relaxed stroll along the river Inn.

 

How to apply?

Application Process

Nomination deadline (for partners) and registration deadline (for freemover): extended to April 05, 2024.

Step 1: Register via our Registration Form. Do your course preselection (Attention it is only a preselection - it does not automatically enroll you for the courses you wish).

Step 2: Contact your Study Abroad Office and ask them to nominate you for our short
program (winter/summer). You will receive an email with the application details after the nomination deadline.

  • Nomination deadline for our winter program is December 05. 2023
  • Nomination deadline for our summer program is March 18. 2024  extended to April 5, 2024

Step 4: We will send a letter of acceptance to you on receiving your
application.

Step 5: Make all necessary travel, visa (if applicable), insurance and housing arrangements.

Step 6: Come & Join your program.

General Information

Students coming from most of MCI's partner universities will not be required to pay tuition fees for our short programs. All other students are required to pay program fees depending on their choice of courses. For more information on fees, please refer to our flyer or contact us at shortprogram@mci.edu

All short programs do not include plane tickets, visa processing fees, housing or any personal expenses (e.g. meals, traveling, etc.).

Estimated living costs:
For rent, food and leisure activities you will need approx. EUR 1,100 (4 weeks). This amount, of course, will vary depending on your personal lifestyle. The following list shows rough estimates.

  • Housing: EUR 500
  • Food: EUR 300
  • Personal expenses: EUR 300 e.g. for recreation and travelling

By plane:
The three big international airports near Innsbruck are Munich, Frankfurt, and Vienna.
Flying into Innsbruck is the fastest way to get here, but it might also be the most expensive. Innsbruck airport is very close to the city center. Bus F brings you directly to the city center in approx. 10-15 minutes.

By train:
Innsbruck is also easily accessible by train. The main station is about 10 mins. from the city center. For more information visit the website of the Austrian Railways company ÖBB. Frequent train services are also available from Vienna and Munich airport.

By bus:
Flixbus from all over Europe or the airport shuttle Four Seasons Travel from Munich airport.

Frequently asked questions

If you’re a student from a partner university, no course fees are charged. Your nomination will be counted in the mobility agreement we share with your university. For students joining our program as freemovers the listed course fees apply.

No, we do not provide any housing during these 3 or 4 weeks.
