What is a Cybersecurity Health Check?
A Cybersecurity Health Check will assess how well the organization is aligned to mitigate risk and identify their security deficiencies. The objective is to identify technology gaps, discuss best practices, and recommend key areas of improvement that will better protect the organization and their data from cyber threats. Depending on the service, a health check will take roughly 4-6 weeks to complete.
Those uncertain of which Health Check service may be most appropriate for them are encouraged to apply for the Foundational Assessment. This high-level, 360-degree view of network structure provides a wide array of data regarding various aspects of the network and provides the basis for additional, more advanced services and next steps. It can also be a powerful tool to demonstrate funding needs to administration by outlining areas of weakness.
Who will perform the Health Check?
Several ITS-78 Statewide Contract vendors have been approved through an RFQ process by the Executive Office of Technology, Services and Security (EOTSS), Office of Municipal and School Technology (OMST) to perform these checks. The Health Checks are provided free for local government agencies.
