Mann Talks recently delivered a workshop on Stress Management for students at Witty International School, Mumbai. These included discussions on what stress is, the various causes of stress, distinguishing between eustress and distress, exploring the impacts of stress on mental and physical health, and learning effective stress management techniques. The workshop aimed to provide students with valuable insights and practical tools to help them navigate and cope with stress in their daily lives. The response from both teachers and students were overwhelmingly positive. Teachers noted that such workshops will help raise awareness about the importance of mental health and well-being among students. Students, on the other hand, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn about stress management techniques that they can apply in their academic and personal lives. Overall, the workshop has fostered a sense of community within the school, with students and teachers coming together to engage in meaningful discussions about stress and mental health. The workshop has not only equipped students with practical tools to manage stress effectively but has also created a supportive environment where students feel empowered to prioritize their well-being. The positive feedback and engagement from both teachers and students highlight the importance of addressing mental health issues in educational settings. Addressing Funding Challenges for Mental Health Initiatives in India 24th April 2024: 10:00 (BST) / 11:00 (CEST) / 14:30 (IST) The Catalyst 2030: Mental Health Collaboration are hosting their next webinar on the 24th of April and it's set to be a great chance to discuss mental health funding in India. Mental health is beginning to feature on the donor agenda in India philanthropy. Over the last decade or so, many new donors are giving in different ways to support mental health initiatives. Yet, considering the massive scale of the challenge, much more private funding is needed. However, donors face significant hurdles when funding this sector. For instance, there is a lack of a clear path for donors in terms of ‘how to’, a dearth of credible data and knowledge, and pervasive stigma associated with mental health that often limit interest from donors. Navigating this complex terrain requires concerted efforts and innovative approaches. How can donors and nonprofits overcome these challenges? What would motivate new and increased funding for mental health? What are some ways to think about outcomes? This webinar will address these questions and more, based on the collective experiences of the social sector in India. Ketaki P. (Centre Head for the Centre for Asian Philanthropy India) will be joined by Jasmine Kalha (Program Director and Research Fellow at the Centre for Mental Health Law & Policy) and Disket Angmo (Strategy & Operations Lead of Mann Talks) for this panel discussion. International Women’s Day is more than just getting a discount at retail. It marks the struggle that women have faced when being discriminated against. This women’s day, let us break free from the restrictions and include the underprivileged, poor, marginalized, trans, and disabled women in our journey towards women’s empowerment. Let us make mental health more accessible not just for our cis-ters but also for our sisters. #Manntalks #internationalwomensday #inspireinclusion #womensday2024 #womensday #IWD2024 #InvestInWomen #AccelerateProgress #InclusiveEmpowerment #womenempowerment
