We are excited to share some great news! Our advanced sorting joint venture, Source One Plastics GmbH, is now fully ISCC+ certified (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification Plus), which underscores our commitment to sustainability. The facility in Eicklingen, Germany, has also successfully produced its first plastic agglomerate, a compacted form of processed mixed plastic waste that can be easily stored, transported and utilized for further manufacturing into (Advanced & Mechanical) plastic recycling units, thus supporting a circular economy Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to make strides in our commitment to circularity. #LYB #Sustainability #Recycling #Circularity

The expansion of the #Rotterdam #Botlek Steam Network is official! LyondellBasell, AVR, Cabot Corporation, LANXESS, Huntsman Corporation and NetVerder, are jointly taking action to decrease natural gas consumption and reduce CO2 and nitrogen emissions by reusing steam released as residual heat from industrial processes. With this far-reaching collaboration, manufacturers, grid company, Gemeente Rotterdam and Provincie Zuid-Holland are joining forces to make industry in the Rotterdam Botlek area more sustainable. "Addressing climate change is one of the most pressing challenges our world faces and we believe collective action and a sense of urgency are needed. We have set ambitious 2030 interim targets to reduce our emissions," says Jan Dirk van Loon, our Senior Director Net Zero Strategy & Execution EU. "We need to collaborate to achieve our goals, especially in a heavily integrated industrial cluster like Rotterdam Botlek. When the steam network is operational, we can save a collective amount of gas at the Botlek cluster that is comparable to the annual consumption of about 45,000 households, a city like Schiedam and our greenhouse gas emissions in Botlek will be reduced by 15%."
