During Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage month, we‘re proud to spotlight the vibrant cultures that enrich our communities. Throughout May, we’ll be celebrating our incredible employees who make up First Hawaiian Bank as we embrace diversity and unity. This week, we’re happy to introduce Dean Duque, EVP & Branch Banking Division Manager who enjoys celebrating his Filipino culture through homemade Filipino cuisine and family gatherings. A cherished childhood memory for Dean revolves around a beloved family tradition: his father cooking pancit for every birthday celebration. This tradition not only represented longevity and prosperity, but also brought joy and warmth to their household. Dean shares, “From an early age, I learned that the heart of Filipino culture beats in the kitchen, where every dish tells a story, and every meal is a celebration. As I stand now in my own kitchen, I realize that food isn't just about nourishing the body, it’s about feeding the soul.” It truly is amazing to hear the stories of our team members and their connection to their heritage. Stay tuned as we continue to spotlight the unique stories of our remarkable employees throughout the month! #AAPI #AAPIMonth #FirstHawaiianBank #MemberFDIC
