Brewing for a better today and tomorrow
About us
This is the official LinkedIn channel of the Carlsberg Group. The Carlsberg Group was established in 1847 by brewer J.C. Jacobsen. J.C. Jacobsen was a true renaissance man. A believer in quality, research and serving the community, he shared his knowledge with fellow brewers. He looked to the future, prizing long-term growth over short-term gain. Today, Carlsberg Group is one of the leading brewery groups in the world, with a large portfolio of beer and other beverage brands. Our beer portfolio spans core beer brands, including local power brands and international premium brands, craft & speciality brands and alcohol-free brews. Our brands are enjoyed in more than 150 markets across Western Europe, Asia and Central & Eastern Europe, and we hold a number 1 or 2 position in more than 20 markets. We strive to brew better beers, today and tomorrow. Doing business responsibly and sustainably supports that purpose – and drives the efforts to deliver value for both our shareholders and the society. The Carlsberg Brewery in Northampton, UK, holds a special place in Carlsberg’s history. It is the first brewery Carlsberg built outside of Denmark in Europe. And today, Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company can celebrate the brewery's 50-year anniversary. “The UK has a unique heritage and cultural connection to beer and pubs, which play such a role in its communities. The brewery helps to keep this tradition strong and thriving, and this exceptional milestone is a proud moment to reflect on our journey and the many exciting opportunities the future hold,” says Jacob Aarup-Andersen, CEO of Carlsberg Group. Over the past half century, it’s estimated that the Carlsberg Brewery in Northampton has brewed around 28 billion pints of beer. Around 2 million pints are brewed every day at the brewery, including popular brands like 1664, Brooklyn Pilsner, and the flagship Carlsberg Pilsner. To celebrate the anniversary, CMBC will light up both the iconic, 418-foot tall National Lift Tower in Northampton and the brewery’s own silo; a striking visual celebration, visible around the town, to bathe these towering buildings in the instantly recognisable Carlsberg green. Some secrets are worth sharing. When we discovered how to purify yeast for better beer at the Carlsberg Research Laboratory in 1883, our founder J.C. Jacobsen decided to share this breakthrough freely with other brewers. Which means? Every beer in the world probably has a bit of our know-how in it. Before purified yeast, beer sickness made brewing a hit-and-miss process. Brewing was an unpredictable process that often resulted in undrinkable beer. Fixed on curing the sickness, Emil Chr. Hansen, Head of the Physiology Department of the Carlsberg Research Laboratory, discovered that purifying the pitching yeast used during the brewing process was the cure. Today is his birthday! Let's raise a glass to Emil Chr. Hansen and his discovery that ensured the consistent, high quality of beer we still enjoy to this very day 🍻 #CarlsbergGroup #CarlsbergResearchLaboratory #Reseach #Innovation

Carlsberg Kazakhstan unveils new production line, boosting capacity of canned products by 30%. Carlsberg Kazakhstan marked a significant milestone with the opening of its latest production line. This major investment brings a new can line dedicated to carbonated soft drinks, along with several improvements to the existing facility. The expansion localises the production of non-alcoholic products entirely in Kazakhstan and introduces a new technological line and workshop that will improve production capacity by 30% from 2.4 million hectolitres per year to 3 million hectolitres. "We are pleased that such large-scale projects allow us to create new jobs, bring new advanced technologies to the Kazakh beverage industry and develop and maintain high quality standards," said Vyacheslav Maltsev, CEO of Carlsberg Kazakhstan. The new can line also features air cleaning of the cans instead of using water, allowing for a significant reduction in water consumption. "Since 2015, Carlsberg Kazakhstan has managed to reduce specific water consumption in production by 51% per produced volume and we are confident that the launch of the new can line will help us save even more water and increase the environmental sustainability of our business," concludes Vyacheslav.
