Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the fellowship! The application portal for the fellowship beginning July 2025 will open June 1st, 2024 and will remain open until the deadline of September 2nd, 2024.

**The Cover Letter/Personal Statement and Letter of Recommendation templates are required for the application and can be downloaded below.

PLEASE NOTE: A cover letter/personal statement, a CV, and three (3) Letters of Recommendation are required for the application. All completed documents will be uploaded via the job application site by following the button below.

Selection Process

The fellowship selection committee will holistically review the candidate’s application for evidence of:

  • Clinical excellence with confidence in independent provision of gender affirming hormone care and LGBTQ+- inclusive care

  • Demonstration of experience in clinical quality improvement and leadership of clinical teams

  • Collaboration with local, regional, or national LGBTQ+ organizations 

  • Scholarly work in LGBTQ+ health or other health equity and social justice activities 

  • Service and advocacy work with LGBTQ+ individuals or populations 

  • Good standing throughout residency, fellowship or other post graduate engagements.

  • Ongoing development of cultural humility, professionalism, and leadership skills as demonstrated by applicant’s letters of recommendation and personal statements

  • Commitment to advancing LGBTQ+ health as a physician-champion in academic or community-based primary care as assessed by past accomplishments and career goals 

Holistic review of candidates will consider:

  • Clinical excellence

  • Good standing throughout residency (and fellowship or other post-residency roles, if applicable)

  • Collaboration with local, regional, or national LGBTQ+ organizations

  • Scholarly portfolio (e.g., presentations, publications, QI projects, education/curriculum contributions), with preference given to contributions in LGBTQ+ health or relevant health equity activities 

  • Advocacy and community service relevant to LGBTQ+ individuals or populations

  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing health equity

  • Personal attributes and professional behaviors as evaluated by letters of recommendation and the content of the candidate’s statements 

  • Commitment to a career serving as a champion for LGBTQ+ health in academic or community-based primary care as assessed by past accomplishments and career goals
