Computer Science LLC

The Computer Science Learning Community is a first-year living-learning community that integrates academic, social, and career development opportunities to support you in making a smooth, successful transition to college at Kent State University.

Students take specific courses together while engaging in various events designed to connect students to faculty, academic advisors, and mentors.

LIVING...

Wright Hall is the community’s on-campus home. Computer Science students are welcome to visit Wright Hall, use the lounge space between classes, and attend community events.

Learning…

The Department of Computer Science offers degrees at the Bachelors, Masters, and PhD levels. The faculty believes in a strong advising approach and, as Advisors, help students choose the appropriate program according to their goals, needs, and interests. Learn more about the Computer Science program.

WHAT IS A LEARNING COMMUNITY?

Learning communities provide students with an opportunity to study, live, and network with peers who share their interests. Students in the Computer Science Learning Community live in Wright Hall, have access to common areas for studying and other events, and benefit from mentoring.

WHY SHOULD I PARTICIPATE?

Students living and learning in these communities begin their college career with a network of smart, engaged, and motivated learners. Building friendships with peers who share interests, who may have similar career objectives, and who are at the same stage of course work, provides a network unparalleled in the college experience. We have found that students in learning communities are often also members in other student organizations and active participants in the life of the Kent State community.
