Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) can last anywhere between one and three years.

KTP is Europe’s leading programme helping businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity through the better use of knowledge and technology. Through a KTP you can:

  • Access highly qualified graduates or postgraduates to spearhead new strategic projects
  • Access academic experts who can help drive your business forward
  • Develop innovative solutions to help your business grow
  • Deliver a strategic project resulting in a significant impact

The average benefits achieved by a single KTP include:

  • An average increase of over £1m in annual profits before tax
  • The creation of three genuine new jobs
  • An increase in skills of existing staff, on average 31 additional staff trained

For a typical two-year KTP small and medium-sized enterprises contribute around £30,000 per year, about one-third of the project costs. Large businesses contribute around £45,000 per year, or half of the project costs.

Through our participation with Kent Business School, we have been able to make better use of our knowledge, technology and skills to progress new ideas, further develop innovation and improve quality and operations
