We provide excellence in hospice care to support local children and young adults

Story

I (Helen Wilson (Yarde)), Vivienne Franklin and Robin Mair
are walking 26 miles on 12th September to raise money for Naomi
House and Jack’s Place Hospice for Children and young adults.

This is normally the Clarendon Way Walk, but this year has
been adapted to the walk your way.

A bit of background - Naomi House and Jack’s Place is a
hospice that supports children and young adults with life limiting or
life-threatening conditions and supports them and their families.

It is a cause awfully close to our hearts as we know a few
children that go there along with Charlie my daughter.

Charlie has been going to Naomi House and Jack’s Place since
she was 3 years old and will be 13 in October and Naomi House and Jack’s Place
have become part of our family.

Just to give you an idea it costs –

£31 is an hour’s care from a nurse.

£52 is a special play session for children with sensory
needs (one of Charlie’s favourites)

£104 is a counselling therapy for a family that has lost a
child.

£744 is a complete 24 hour stay for a child - each child is
allowed 16 nights a year. Charlie has been going for 9+ years.

16 nights a year are a lifeline for families – they are not
just nurses and carers, the play specialists and office staff not forgetting
the volunteers who all make Naomi House and Jack’s Place what it is.

When Charlie goes, we know it is her second home. They are
there for us even when Charlie is not there.

So please support the 3 of us and can only thank Viv and
Robin for supporting me and doing this walk for such an amazing place.

They are our extended family and without them I would be
lost.
