Story
As some of you will already know, my dad David Cronin passed away in the late hours of Thursday 14th May. This has come as a shock not only to us, but many others who knew and loved him, and as a result of the pandemic we can't be with everyone to commemorate his amazing life in the way he would have wanted. Therefore Jojo, Olivia, Daniela and I are trying to raise some money to put towards a memorial bench and send off party for him.
My dad was, and will always be, the best man I know. He was at every single football game, hockey match, drama performance, you name it, he would be there to support us. He was the most incredibly loving father, friend and husband. Many others will know him through running the cricket and football clubs at all our various schools, but mainly our primary school Bishop Gilpin, something he enjoyed so much that he continued long past the time that Olivia left, to the point that the school dedicated the 'Cronin Cup' to his legacy.
He was the kind of person that could chat to anyone, and did, and could usually be seen out and about around Wimbledon. If you've ever been to the Wimbledon Pret around mid afternoon, trust me, it was pretty much guaranteed that you'd spot him there. One of his favourite things to do was go for walks up on Wimbledon Common with our dog Alfie, something he did virtually every day.
So, for this reason we are asking for contributions from people that knew and loved him to put towards both a memorial party when we can all be together again, as well as for a bench up at the Common, somewhere he loved so much, to act as a place where people can chat, laugh, and come together to remember the amazing life of David Cronin.

4 years agoHi all. Just wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you, we have just been absolutely blown away by the incredible response - we have already hit our goal of raising the money for the initial cost of the bench. The rest of the donations will be dedicated not only to the maintenance of the bench for years to come but also towards organising a proper celebration of his life (when we are allowed to gather in big groups again), just the way he would have wanted! Lots, and lots of love. Elise, Jojo and Olivia. xx
