Essential information for anyone who will be present at our event. Learn about our increased hygiene measures and medical safeguarding. (Event health and safety precautionary guidelines are subject to change as directed by the local authorities.)
Before
Inbound Travel Advice
Please ensure you have taken the time to read all of the latest Government, Public Health, travel and testing guidance. You can find these here.
Registration
Please make sure you register and print your badge before attending. Admission will be strictly by registration in advance only and details may be used for contact tracing if necessary.
Plan ahead
Plan your visit before you arrive at the venue. Knowing what you are going to do and where to go will contribute to safe and productive attendance. Also plan how to get to and from the venue by checking any relevant travel advice or restrictions.
Stay home if you are unwell
All guests are encouraged to check you are feeling well before attending our event. Please ensure that you are in good health, with no fever or other symptoms related to COVID-19, before travelling to the venue.
Badging
Please have your printed badge ready to show to our event security and registration staff, and allow plenty of time to go through the checks at the entrance.
Please note that your badge must be printed in colour. We will provide badge holders and lanyards upon arrival.
During
Inside our event we are making meeting and doing business as safe as possible for everyone.
Face Masks
Although it is no longer a legal obligation, IBTM World recommends everyone onsite wears face masks, except those who are exempt. They should be worn at all times and in all areas of the show.
Hygiene
Hand sanitisers will be readily available throughout the venue. Please continue to follow guidance and wash your hands frequently.
Be Kind
Please be mindful of individuals personal space. Please give people space when you are walking past them and check before initiating personal contact (consider elbow bumps rather than handshakes or hugs).
Ventilation
Ventilation will be increased, improving fresh air circulation in line with the latest guidance.
Cleaning
We will maintain the highest standards of cleaning before, during and after the event, including frequent cleaning of all high touch points.
Food and beverage
All catering facilities will be open but in line with the latest government guidance. Cashless payments are encouraged.
Exhibitor stands
Exhibitors are reviewing stand designs to ensure physical distancing is maintained. Capacities for each stand will be displayed clearly.

Events in the new normal
The Third Edition of Reed Exhibitions’ Global COVID-19 ‘Safety Shows’ Health & Safety strategy represents a refresh, keeping pace with the evolving pandemic; emerging research; changes in thinking and practice etc. as the event industry gradually adapts and reopens for business. We’ve planned-for and tested the ‘what’ and the ‘how’ that will be necessary to respond to the risks associated with COVID-19.

This is the current advice you would need to follow for arriving in Barcelona. For your return journey you will need to check your local government guidelines.

All travellers who travel to Spain from non-EU/Schengen Area countries and who do not have an EU Digital COVID Certificate or equivalent (except children under 12 years old and those in international transit) by air or sea must complete a simple Health Control Form.

If you develop symptoms onsite and require immediate medical attention you should attend the first aid room in Hall 3 if you are able to, or request medical assistance by phoning the first aid room on +34 93 233 40 02. The medical team onsite will arrange appropriate treatment and transportation to the nearest hospital for you.
If you develop symptoms and do not require medical help please make your way to the nearest exit, avoiding any unnecessary contact and inform the Organisers of your symptoms by calling +34 93 233 42 79. You should self isloate at home or in your hotel and call 061 for further guidance.

Yes, to ensure the safety of the Event following pilot event results and latest government advice, all attendees entering the Venue will be required to provide one of the following:
- Proof of full course of vaccination;
- Proof of negative COVID test within the last 72 hours (Rapid Antigen Test is accepted); or
- Proof of natural immunity shown by a positive PCR test result for COVID-19, lasting for 180 days after the date of the positive test and following completion of the self-isolation period.
Current guidance suggests that verifying attendees COVID-19 Status is an effective way of reducing the risk of transmission among large groups. Studies of those who have received a full vaccination course demonstrate that the risk of carrying and transmitting the disease is vastly reduced. For those not vaccinated, a Rapid Antigen Test has been proven as a reliable way of indicating if people are currently carrying the virus. Therefore, this evidence suggests that this is the best way to keep everyone safe.

International attendees can show their equivalent of the EU Digital COVID Certificate from their country of origin.
You will need the QR code or the ID number from the test strip to report your result. You can show your proof of a negative test via email or text message.
Fully vaccinated means 2 weeks after completing a full course of vaccination. So in this instance you will need to show proof of a negative rapid antigen test taken within 72hrs prior to attending the event.
There are a small number of exemptions for individuals who have a medical reason which means they cannot vaccinate or test.
If this applies to you then you will need to self-declare your medical exception directly with the venue staff upon arrival.
Yes, checks will be carried out every day. If you are attending show on proof of a negative PCR or rapid antigen test and it exceeds the 72-hour limit then you will need to provide additional test results. We recommend that you bring additional rapid antigen tests with you.
No. There will be no onsite registration facilities this year to help us manage attendee numbers onsite so you must register in advance.
All visitors must print their badge before arriving in order to gain access to the event. Please note that your badge must be printed in colour.

As with all COVID-19 safety measures physical distancing requirements will be monitored continuously in the run up to IBTM World.

Yes, there will be complimentary cloakroom facilities available however please only bring essential items with you as space is limited.
Due to the continued unpredictability of the current climate, we are constantly monitoring the situation and will notify everyone if anything changes.
We will be in touch via email, press releases and all our social media channels as soon as decisions are made with all the information you need.
In the unlikely situation that there is a positive case of COVID-19 onsite, we will work with Fira Barcelona and the local health authorites to support their contact tracing meaures which may include sharing of visitor data.
