N Active Sound+ (NAS+) redefines the auditory experience of electric vehicles. The system is engineered to deliver immersive virtual sound optimised for EV N performance, dynamically adapting to driving parameters via the Intelligent Control Unit (ICU). NAS+ adds synchronised external driving sound for an exhilarating experience, integrating features like N e-Shift mode to enhance the car’s feedback to the driver. NAS+ offers three distinct sound settings, catering to various preferences.

N Battery Preconditioning is a feature that enables drivers to preset the temperature of their vehicle‘s battery before embarking on a racetrack session. This functionality is particularly beneficial for optimising performance under specific driving conditions. FOR DRAG RACING: It ensures the battery reaches an optimum temperature range of 30-40C, thereby maximising power output during acceleration. This targeted temperature range is ideal for racing scenarios, where rapid bursts of power are essential for competitive performance. FOR TRACK DRIVING: N Battery Preconditioning sets the battery temperature to the optimal range between 20-30C. By setting the temperature to this range, drivers can extend their track sessions by starting with the optimal temperature for performance. The target temperature reduces the risk of overheating while delivering the best performance.

N Drift Optimizer enables controlled drifting capabilities through advanced software engineering. The system supports precise maintenance of drift angles, offering drivers a heightened level of control and excitement during manoeuvres. It integrates various vehicle controls, such as stability and traction control systems (ESC) and electronic Limited Slip Differential (e-LSD). In addition, motor mode, steering, and suspension modes are unique to the N Drift Optimizer to provide the best drifting experience. Wheel spin limit prevents excessive spin-out and potential tyre degradation, creating a controlled experience.

N e-Shift transcends the single-speed nature of traditional EVs by simulating the engaging gear shifts of an 8-speed N DCT. Utilising precise motor control, N e-Shift delivers realistic rev-matching and distinct shift jolts, and different levels of engine braking for different simulated gears using recuperation, replicating the familiar feedback of internal combustion vehicles. Seamlessly integrated with the N Active Sound+ system, N e-Shift creates an authentic driving experience while granting drivers control over their vehicle’s dynamics by using active paddle shifting. Drivers can map the N e-Shift toggle to one of the N buttons.

N Pedal is an innovative feature designed to enhance the driving dynamics of IONIQ 5 N – for driving on the racetrack. It optimises the vehicle‘s performance during deceleration, prioritising turn-in behaviour, and throttle control. By leveraging advanced algorithms and aggressive weight transfer techniques, N Pedal strengthens the car’s agility, ensuring sharper corner entries and superior control, delivering an electrifying driving experience that defies convention.

N Race is a specialised mode tailored to optimise energy usage on the racetrack, providing drivers with enhanced control over their vehicle‘s performance. By presetting energy use strategies, N Race improves resistance to power degradation, minimises power restrictions due to heat limits, and optimises battery and motor cooling for consistent performance. N Race offers two distinct setups. SPRINT: Enables sprint racing mode with maximal cooling, no power limits, and N Grin Boost (NGB) applicable, unleashing maximum performance. ENDURANCE: Facilitates endurance racing mode with peak power optimization and maximal cooling to increase track range, ensuring sustained performance over longer durations.

N Torque Distribution (NTD) is a fundamental feature integrated into IONIQ 5 N’s control system, significantly impacting how drivers engage with their car‘s performance dynamics. With 11 levels, drivers can tune the torque distribution between the front and rear axles to match their specific driving style. NTD enhances performance and control across different road or racetrack environments.
