Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; two years of experience performing cashiering and/or grounds maintenance duties; one year of supervisory experience preferred; basic knowledge of accounting principles and experience in cashiering operations; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Basic computer and calculator skills are required; good customer service, communication skills and accurate record keeping are necessary; knowledge of waste management operations and managing hazardous materials are a plus; ability to work in all weather conditions; work in this classification is primarily physical in nature requiring standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 60 pounds. Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.

Duties

Assists the Site Supervisor with the oversight of revenue collection activities adhering to all county auditing procedures and policies; monitors convenience center operations to comply with all OSHA safety requirements; serves as a point of contact to resolve customer complaints and answer customer questions; oversees waste disposal and recycling programs at the convenience centers, performs general maintenance of grounds and facilities, and maintains accurate records. Displays a positive attitude and demonstrates by example that safety is the top priority. Perform other work as required.

Shift

40 hours/week; 8 to 10 hour shifts; Saturday – Friday to include evenings, weekends, and holidays
