Hello family, friends, friends of friends, clients of Smoothe, and those that happen upon our page!! Sweet Corbin was born July 1, 2022, the 4th child of Lindsey and Greg. He had a big brother and two big sisters anxiously awaiting his arrival at home. That arrival was delayed due to "newborn jaundice." Unfortunately, this "newborn jaundice" continued to worsen, and Corbin was getting daily lab draws and was hospitalized and on a bili-blanket at home.
By the grace of a highly trained pediatric Nurse Practitioner (and mommy gut instinct), their spidey senses knew something wasn't right. More labs were ordered, and Corbin was seen at UNC for a specialist referral. They have already been back & forth to many doctors appointments and this journey has just begun.

It is highly suspected Corbin has a rare condition called Biliary Atresia. You can read more here:
Upon further discussion and knowing we had to do the VERY BEST for Corbin, Lindsey was on the horn to get her son the best medical care in the area. As many of you may have seen, Lindsey connected with another local mom and blogger, which has led Corbin to the excellent pediatric liver team at Duke. Corbin will see the Duke team this week and have more testing in the coming days. Once the team evaluates Corbin and finalizes their care plan, they will proceed quickly to execute their care plan. Lindsey will be taking her maternity leave & caring for Corbin, in the hospital and once they're home.

We are asking for continued prayers! Lindsey & Greg truly appreciated every prayer, all the good vibes, meals sent, and any monetary donation. All monetary donations will be used for daily parking, gas too/from Duke & appointments, food, caring for the 'bigs" at home, and other medical necessities for Corbin.

Prayers for Corbin, Lindsey & Greg, the kids at home, our family, and the entire care team at Duke.

Thank you!
