About this event

Webinar Outline: Having a prepared elevator speech will help you to present yourself credibly and effectively in many situations. Even in situations where a full elevator speech isn’t necessary or desirable, just knowing the separate elements of your elevator speech will help you to answer sudden and unexpected questions.

In this interactive presentation, Dr. Brittany Parker Kerrigan, PhD, will explain what elevator speeches are (and are not). She'll go through the elements of elevator speeches, tips for audience engagement, helpful components, and finally presentation tips.

Instructor Background: Brittany C. Parker Kerrigan, PhD is the Associate Director of Research Planning and Development within the Brain Tumor Center at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Brittany has served various leadership outreach positions, including serving as President of the Houston Chapter of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS), and is currently Chair of the AWIS National’s Chapters and Affiliates Committee, where she oversees all 80 AWIS Chapters and affiliates across the United States.
