About this event

The Office of Reentry Partnerships recognizes that people released from jail in the past year may be experiencing extreme financial hardship as a result of the conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in addition to the numerous barriers associated with being incarcerated. In April, we are launching a program to provide emergency financial assistance to some Philadelphia residents released from the Philadelphia Department of Prisons since March 2020. The assistance will be in the form of a one-time electronic payment of $500.

This info session will cover:

• Who is eligible for the financial assistance;

• How to apply for the financial assistance, including what information and documentation needs to be provided and how;

• How partner organizations can support eligible individuals to apply for and receive the assistance;

• Additional program details;

• A chance to ask questions.

We want to connect with as many reentry support organizations as possible before the application goes live. We hope that our partners will help get the word out about this COVID-19 emergency response that is geared exclusively towards people released from incarceration, and actively work with eligible individuals to complete the application so they can receive their payment.

Anyone is welcome to attend one of these two virtual information sessions. We encourage participation by case managers and others who are likely to be directly supporting individuals with the administrative components of applying for and being able to receive a payment.

A meeting link for this virtual information session will be sent to registered participants.
