East Bridgewater’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Planning Grant

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EOEEA) have created the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Program (MVP) to support and empower MA communities to prioritize and reduce local climate change risks.

Environmental Partners is currently assisting the community of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts with their MVP Planning Grant process.

The MVP planning grant provides funding for municipalities to hold Community Resilience Building (CRB) Workshops to recognize and prioritize climate change hazards to the environment, local infrastructure, and the community. Local stakeholders participate in these workshops and influence the development of priorities, which include immediate and long-term actions to build resiliency locally. MVP communities then have access to MVP action grants to fund their identified priorities and projects. These grants provide MA communities with the information and resources they need to protect their communities from climate change.
