The Chrysalis Inspired Event is the foundation's annual fundraising and educational event. We present powerful speakers on meaningful topics, giving us the opportunity to network, share lunch, and learn from their wisdom and experience. DOLORES HUERTA is one of the most important yet least recognized activists of our time! For over 3 decades, the Chrysalis Foundation has been inspired by the extraordinary women whose work has shaped a better future for women and girls. For the legendary Dolores Huerta, "every moment is an opportunity, every person a potential activist, every minute a chance to change the world." Born in 1930 in the mountains of New Mexico and moved by witnessing the struggles of migrant families, Huerta committed her life to activism, becoming an equal partner in founding the United Farm Workers of America with Cesar Chavez. It was Huerta who coined the phrase Si Se Puede! (Yes, We Can!) Huerta received the Eleanor Roosevelt Human Rights Award and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States among many other awards.
