Dean’s Honor Roll for Social Impact

The Honor Roll will recognize students who take the initiative to make their communities a priority through service. Zimpleman College of Business students who perform and record at least 20 hours of community service, and submit a reflection paper or attend reflection session at the end of the semester, will be placed on this honor roll in recognition of their commitment to making a positive societal impact.

Who is eligible?

Zimpleman College of Business undergraduate and graduate students who perform and confirm 20 hours of community service with an approved organization, and submit a reflection paper or attend a reflection session at the end of the semester.

Recognition

Students meeting the eligibility requirements will be recognized in an honor roll published by the Zimpleman College of Business and receive a personal message from the dean.

Community service defined

Community service is defined as volunteer service for a non-profit organization or educational institution that meets the spirit of Drake's inspiration statement: Together we transform lives and strengthen communities. Service performed through class activities, university-sponsored service programs, clubs, sororities and fraternities can also count towards the Honor Roll.

Reflection

Students can opt to either submit a one-page reflection on what they did and what they learned or join the dean for a reflection session at the end of the semester to meet the eligibility requirements. Details on how to submit/join a reflection session will be published on this site during the semester.

Tracking

We are introducing a new online platform from technology partner GivePulse to make it easier for students to record their hours and provide information about their service using either a web browser or mobile app. Submissions will be reviewed regularly by Drake staff and hours approved accordingly. Students are encouraged to GivePulse Quickstart Guide to claim their account, join the honor roll group, search for volunteer opportunities, and track their impact.
