• IHOP just opened its first location that features a bar.
  • The new spot is in Phoenix, AZ, and the bar sells wine, beer, and cocktails.
  • Three of the cocktails were specially made for IHOP.

IHOP is pretty much perfect. Where else can someone get delicious burgers and fluffy pancakes all in one place? And they even deliver. But now the artist formerly known as IHOb has gotten even better. Why? Because a restaurant in Arizona just added booze to its list of perks.

According to local news outlet ABC 15 Arizona, an IHOP location that opened recently in Phoenix features a full-service bar. Some IHOPs in airports already have bars, but this is the first standalone location to sell alcohol.

Extra Crispy reports the IHOP in Phoenix used to be a Lone Star Steakhouse, and since it was already equipped and allowed to sell alcohol, the Romulus Restaurant Group, the franchise's owner, asked corporate if they could keep it. The executives reportedly agreed and even collaborated on the drinks menu.

The bar is open every day from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m local time, and the "Rise and Shine" menu offers craft beer and wine. Customers can also try one of the location's special cocktails, like the Mulemosa, which features ginger beer, sparkling wine, and orange juice. The Blue Roof Bloody Mary, another specialty cocktail, is made with a Tajin rim, celery, olives, and hickory-smoked bacon. A Frozen Rooty Rita, which is a blended margarita with strawberry puree, is also great for tequila lovers.

There are currently no plans to extend the bar concept to other IHOP locations around the country, but it wouldn't be a far-fetched idea to think this may catch on in the future.
