For more than two decades Tracy Morehead has been a terrific resource of knowledge, wisdom, kindness, inclusion and compassion on the Wildwood Elementary School campus. A current 5th grade teacher, Ms. Morehead provides rigorous academic instruction and social/emotional learning that empowers students to succeed. The Conejo Valley Unified School District and the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce are proud to honor Ms. Morehead as the February 2024 Teacher of the Month!
Ms. Morehead supports students' growth inside and outside of the classroom. She encourages positive relationships between students through her “unity through community” vision. She also offers students an opportunity to foster relationships and connect with one another on a personal level by providing an informal get-together once a week before school.
Ms. Morehead is also a leader on her campus - making positive connections that benefit the entire school community. She takes on roles and responsibilities that strengthen teams, empower students and enhance the positive school culture. Her problem solving, relational and communication skills help individuals coalesce into high performance teams. This includes serving as a member of the school’s professional development team, a lead teacher, co-leader of Wildwood’s student council, co-leader of the annual talent show, a host teacher for numerous student teachers, and a key member of the newly formed administrative advisory committee.
Ms. Morehead has an incredible reputation as a teacher and leader and has earned the admiration and respect from colleagues across the District, including being described by her peers as a “treasure” to Wildwood.
At the Tuesday, February 13th Wildwood Elementary School staff meeting, Ms. Morehead was surprised with the February 2024 Teacher of the Month recognition. She was presented with a commemorative plaque from the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce to honor her special recognition, along with a teacher grant from the Conejo Schools Foundation. Congratulations Ms. Morehead on this well-deserved honor - thank you for the immeasurable positive impact you make in students’ lives each and every day!
