CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Andrew Mellon Foundation of New York, a longtime supporter of Cleveland’s cultural sector, delivered another big lift to the region Saturday by announcing a $500,000 grant to Cleveland Public Theatre.

The grant is part of a five-way, $2.5 million award to CPT and four other community-based professional theaters across the U.S. The other recipients are: Company One Theatre in Boston, Crowded Fire Theatre in San Francisco, Mosaic Theatre in Washington, D.C., and Perseverance Theatre in Juneau, Alaska.
