Who We Are

Audrey Robinson, Ph.D.

I began my professional career as a business consultant which gave me a broad view of diversity in the workplace. After several years in the consulting business, I decided to explore academe while earning a Master’s, an Educational Specialist, and a Doctoral degree in Career and Education at Virginia Tech.  With more than 10 years in higher education, I am currently the director of the Academic Skills Center at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. I have conducted research in the area of social justice and diversity and have led programs for “Men of Color” at Shenandoah University and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (UWEC).

I launched the Circles of Change initially as an equity, diversity, and inclusion initiative to focus on race relations both on campus at UWEC and in the community. I now travel across Wisconsin to empower school districts, community partners, private businesses, and others to consider Circles of Change for adults and youth with ARobinson Consulting, LLC.  It is my belief that by bringing people together in dialogue, then ACTION, we empower all towards social change.

I have spent the past 30 years working in the public service and education industries designing, developing, and implementing equitable systems of support.  I hold a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire and a Master of Science degree in School Counseling from the University of Wisconsin- Stout.  I have worked as a county social worker, an elementary school counselor, a Positive Behavior and Intervention Support Coach and District Coordinator, and a Mental Health District Coordinator.  Most recently I became a Statewide Coach for the Wisconsin Center for Resilient Schools. I understand that the equity gaps created by our systems do not meet the needs of all children and their families and work tirelessly to improve how the adults work within those systems to support the whole child.

Since 2017, I have been collaborating with Dr. Audrey Robinson, on the creation, implementation, and facilitation of a Circles of Change program for youth and adults. Engaging in dialogue circles on equity, diversity, and inclusion gives participants a voice, and most importantly the opportunity to take action in shaping a diverse community.
