Beverly Burris

A Charleston native, Beverly developed an appreciation for real estate and the beautiful homes of the Lowcountry at a young age. After graduating from Porter-Gaud School and Clemson University, she moved to Manhattan to pursue a career in real estate. There she gained valuable experience navigating one of the most competitive markets in the country. Her additional background in interior design and public relations enables her to recognize a property’s potential and work creatively to achieve her clients’ needs.

The charm of Charleston eventually drew Beverly back home where she became an agent at William Means. In 2021, she achieved over $20 Million in sales and has been recognized as a Charleston Trident Association of Realtors "Realtor of Distinction" for the past two years. Aside from working in real estate, she enjoys traveling, yoga, art, concerts and spending time with her friends, family and dog. She currently resides in Wagener Terrace on Charleston’s Upper Peninsula.

Testimonials

  • Beverly recently sold our home in Charleston. She went above and beyond every step of the way. Because of her local roots, she was able to help us get inspections very quickly and get the professionals we needed for repairs. She is extremely knowledgeable about the neighborhood, and the current real estate marketplace, fairly pricing our home and getting it sold. She had to get creative during our negotiations, and was able to help us and the buyer have a mutually successful outcome. Beverly is very hard working, eager to please, very organized and on top of the situation. She definitely wants the best for her clients. I would definitely recommend Beverly for anyone buying or selling in Charleston.
    - Jane Z., Wagener Terrace

  • Beverly is amazing. She consistently took on responsibilities that made our lives so much easier. She referred us to reliable and reasonably priced people and companies to complete punch list items, brought over staging items that made a world of difference, coordinated showings, and just went above and beyond during the entire process. She has a wealth of incredibly helpful knowledge about Charleston and the market here. She made selling our house one million percent easier than I thought it would be. Highly, highly recommend.
    - Anna Crudup, South of Broad

  • Beverly made our first-time home buying process extremely clear and easy for us. During the search, her Charleston-native background immediately shows up in local market knowledge, something I wouldn’t have realized we needed before working with her. She is extremely proactive with information, checklists and communications. Response time is always immediate, and she does not hesitate to reach out to the seller with negotiation and timely communications.
    - Seth Gudger, Old Village

  • Beverly’s tireless work ethic and attention to detail genuinely stood out among her peers from day one. From power washing our concrete to bringing fresh flowers for showings, saying she went above and beyond is truly an understatement. It felt like we were her only clients and her only listing. That is impressive and rare. We don't plan on moving any time soon, but I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone in the area.
    - Jeff C., South of Broad

  • Our daughter decided to buy a home after relocating for a new job. She did not have the ability to physically visit Charleston to tour homes and I (mom) had just two weekends to help in that task. I am amazed that Beverly found my daughter the perfect home! Beverly worked extremely well on a remote basis. She grew up in this community and is in tune with the market. She listened carefully and quickly narrowed down properties that fit. During the entire process she provided us with information we needed to make informed decisions and guided us through the intricacies of home purchase. She has excellent third party referrals to move the process along. During negotiations Beverly came up with a creative solution to close the deal. We feel so fortunate to have worked with Beverly. She is honest, responsive and pleasant. Great experience!

  • I recently worked with Beverly while searching for a house in Charleston. I especially wanted to live in the Wagener Terrace neighborhood. Beverly lives in the neighborhood herself and knew it's a desirable area where homes often sell quickly. My search was slightly complicated by the fact that I was living 4.5 hours away from Charleston. When we weren't finding anything quite right for me, Beverly reached out to other realtors to find homes before they hit the market, which ultimately resulted in me finding a home in my area of choice. Beverly worked in a very timely manner to coordinate all of the inspections, appraisals, and other necessary appointments during the transaction. This was again quite helpful since I was a state away. She was always available and ensured everything was in order for the closing.
    - Donna S., Wagener Terrace

  • Beverly worked with me on both the sale of my condominium and the purchase of my new home. Beverly's advice and expertise were invaluable to making the process of buying and selling smooth and keeping my stress level low. She had a firm grip on market trends in my neighborhood, and her attention to details that I never would have considered was invaluable. In particular, I am positive that Beverly's focus on staging and use of space is the reason my condo sold for substantially more than I anticipated. I highly recommend Beverly.
    - Steve K., Downtown Charleston

  • Do not hesitate to call Beverly. We were looking at houses on our own for a couple of months before we called an agent. She made the search so much more enjoyable! She is kind, knowledgeable, and responds to texts/call promptly. She worked around our hectic schedules, balanced our needs/wants, and was patient with us. As first-time home buyers we didn't always know exactly what we wanted. She coordinated all of the inspections and made it as effortless as possible for us. I do not have a negative thing to say about her and would absolutely use her again. She even let me bring my dog with me when she drove us to showings!
    - Kassi Garan, James Island

  • Beverly was a very big help for us in the purchase of our condo at the Regatta on James Island! She has a wide range of knowledge about Charleston and the real estate market. She helped us with the closing and our attorneys to get the deal we were looking for. Overall, I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking to purchase real estate.
    - Bill Fennell, James Island

  • We moved to Charleston from out of state and Beverly went above and beyond to find our perfect home. She took multiple videos of houses we were interested in, and was very responsive. We chose to use her despite two other personal recommendations just based on a gut feeling she gave us. She grew up here and knows all of the neighborhoods, as well as people who lived in each to help guide us. She is super detail oriented and was always two steps ahead. We have bought and sold homes before and would recommend her without hesitation!
    - Lauren Fogelgren, James Island

  • We wouldn't be living in our dream home right now if it weren't for working with Beverly! In the current Charleston market, Beverly keenly advised us and negotiated on our behalf to sell our house for a 40% profit to afford us the house of our dreams on the marsh. Without Beverly's thorough knowledge of all neighborhoods, solid relationships with other brokers and contractors, and incredibly quick response time, the transactions would not have gone through so quickly and smoothly. We could not recommend working with Beverly and her team more!
    - Angie Smith, West Ashley

  • I want to recognize Beverly Burris for her exceptional representation as my agent in the sale of my property in the Edgewater Park neighborhood of West Ashley. Her kindness and tenacity, and her timing of each, got us to the closing table. Beverly is extremely hard working, and willing to give it all to her clients, even with the strenuous schedule of a nursing newborn at home. I was not local during the listing, and she took over, along with her dear mother, to provide the finishing touches. She was especially gifted at calming my emotional states, during the ups and downs of the selling process, in a very challenging and volatile market and business. I am very grateful for her professionalism and the results of the sale.
    - Frances Dennis, West Ashley

  • Beverly has been the most amazing help! I was looking to purchase a home for the first time in a completely new area and state and she was the best help in providing endless resources and helping me choose a place very quickly! She has been a great help from aiding in virtually touring, providing endless recommendations for activities in the area, and explaining every step as this was the first home I had purchased. She is always so quick to respond and I am so thankful to have had her in this process. Cannot recommend her and William Means as a whole for their swift and hard work!

What do you think sets you apart as an agent?

I’ve wanted to be in real estate for as long as I can remember, and I genuinely love what I do. I’m also a bit of a perfectionist and hold myself to extremely high standards, so I am committed to providing my clients with nothing but the best service.

Favorite restaurant in Charleston and why?

There are so many delicious options, but Leon’s is probably my favorite neighborhood go-to. A chic space set in an old auto body shop, it has a relaxed atmosphere and great outdoor seating. Serving amazing salads, fried chicken, oysters and rosé—what’s not to love!

Describe a favorite Saturday afternoon in Charleston.

A perfect Saturday always starts with a trip to the beach with my dog. My mom grew up on Sullivan's Island, so it has a special place in our hearts. After that, exploring the town with friends—walking in Hampton Park, visiting a new restaurant or brewery and then watching the sun set over the Ashley River.
