As a Native American Alumni of Shawnee Mission North High School I Will Give a blessing for the school to keep the the mascot as the Indians. I take great pride in my high school honoring my culture by choosing them as the mascot. The school wanted to honor my people by choosing them to represent the hard work and dedication of the students of the school. North had always been respectful of the culture of my people. In an age of cancel culture I do not wish to see my people white washed from another school. Cultural Appropriation is Cultural appreciation.
